|Duties & Responsibilities:||Provide direct supervision of Supervisor Forensic Services DNA personnel performing various functions related to the operations of the Biological Science section. These functions may include oversight of shifts, training, validation, CODIS administration, automation, quality assurance, safety, and proficiency testing.|
Assist the Director Biological Sciences and/or Assistant Director Biological Sciences in the administration of the technical and scientific operations of the Biological Sciences section. Responsibilities include case assignment, monitoring case progress, managing productivity, supervision of procedures and reviewing analytical reports.
Assist the Director Biological Sciences and/or Assistant Director Biological Sciences in the enhancing analytical capability and capacity of the Biological Sciences section, including managing specimen flow to obtain optimal productivity and evaluation of emerging technology.
Participate in the needs assessment and funding of laboratory. Includes preparation and administration of budgets and grants.
Serve as a resource person for prosecutors, investigators, evidence technicians and other law enforcement personnel.
Shall stay abreast of developments within the field of forensic DNA analysis by reviewing current scientific literature, organizing or attending seminars, courses and professional meetings.
|Minimum and/or Preferred Qualifications:||Has served as or meets the qualifications of a Supervisor of Forensic Services or its equivalent in another laboratory.|
A minimum of one year supervisory experience as a Supervisor of Forensic Services, or its equivalent in another laboratory.
|Additional Comments:||Starting Salary: $96,235.00.|
