|Duties & Responsibilities:||The Supervisor of Forensic Services assigned to Evidence Receiving, will be responsible for the administration and oversight of all evidence receiving sections at the Forensic Investigation Center as well as each regional satellite location. Duties will include, but will not be limited to, having supervisory, as well as hands-on, responsibility with the intake and processing of all evidential items submitted for analysis while in State Police evidence storage.|
Supervise State Police Evidence Technician 1 and Evidence Technician 2 staff at the Forensic Investigation Center as well as each regional satellite location.
Oversee the training of the evidence receiving staff on the proper submission protocols, use of laboratory management system (LIMS), operation of all equipment and instrumentation specific to evidence receiving operations
Provide guidance to laboratory personnel, State Police personnel and submitting agencies on the proper submission and packaging protocols of evidential items submitted to and returned from evidence receiving sections system wide.
Periodically conduct laboratory evidence receiving audits at both the Forensic Investigation Center as well as the regional satellite locations, to ensure proper adherence to laboratory and accreditation standards.
Develop, maintain and ensure accreditation compliance for all aspects of the evidence receiving rules and regulations to ensure proper and uniform adherence by all ER sections.
|Minimum and/or Preferred Qualifications:||A Master's Degree in a Natural Physical or Forensic Science, Administration (e.g. Public Administration, Business Administration or Criminal Justice) or Computer Science;|
Have a minimum of four (4) years satisfactory experience performing the duties of a Forensic Scientist or its equivalent in another laboratory.
Fifteen (15) years of satisfactory experience performing the duties of a Forensic Scientist or its equivalent in another laboratory may be considered as a substitute for a Master's Degree.
|Additional Comments:||Starting Salary: $78,283.00.|
