|Duties & Responsibilities:||Coordinates training of new forensic scientists, staff participating in new or modified methodologies and staff in need of remedial training.|
Performs analysis of evidence in the most complex cases.
Recognized as an expert in Forensic DNA. Maintains technical proficiency and awareness of the latest technical advances, section protocols and analyses.
Coordinates the development, validation and implementation of new methodologies and/or programs.
Provides monitoring of technical QA programs within laboratory system.
Assumes the duties of the Supervisor of Forensic Services (DNA) in their absence.
Performs any other reasonable assignments or duties as directed by a supervisor.
|Minimum and/or Preferred Qualifications:||A Bachelor's Degree in areas related to biology, chemistry, forensic science or computer science.|
Must have successfully completed a minimum of 12 credit hours in a combination of graduate and undergraduate course work covering the subject areas of biochemistry, genetics and molecular biology, as well as statistics and/or population genetics as it applies to forensic DNA analysis.
A minimum of six years satisfactory experience performing the duties of a Forensic Scientist or its equivalent in another forensic laboratory.
A Master's Degree in areas related to biology, chemistry, forensic science or computer science may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
|Additional Comments:||Starting Salary: $70,438.00.|
