|Duties & Responsibilities:||The Forensic Scientist 4, SG-23, assigned to the Quality Assurance Office at the Forensic Investigation Center is responsible for the administration of quality assurance program activities for the technical and scientific functions of the laboratory system. This position will include supervision of the laboratory accreditation program including internal audits, control of nonconforming work and corrective actions, proficiency testing, as well as assuring the quality of test results procedures.|
Responsible for the administration of quality assurance program activities as they relate to the technical and scientific operations of forensic analysis in the New York State Police Crime Laboratory System.
Responsible for the preparation of necessary reports and other accreditation-related communications.
Responsible for the oversight of training programs, internal audits, control of nonconforming work and corrective actions and proficiency testing in each of the forensic disciplines in the laboratory system.
Provide support to laboratory discipline supervisors to ensure quality control activities are implemented and the results monitored to ensure the quality of test results.
Assist the Director of Quality Assurance in matters related to laboratory accreditation.
|Minimum and/or Preferred Qualifications:||Possess a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in natural science or physical science or computer science. |
Six (6) years' experience performing the duties of a Forensic Scientist or its equivalent in another laboratory.
A Master's Degree in a Natural or Physical Science or Computer Science may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
|Additional Comments:||Starting Salary: $70,438.00.|
