Duties & Responsibilities:Performance of these duties may require frequent and unscheduled work hours, which could include evenings and weekends. Travel to conferences and trainings nationwide may be required.

Conduct research regarding terrorist groups and individuals to ensure updated understanding of ideology, recruitment, fundraising, tactics, targets and other factors and elements necessary for terrorism to subsist.

Monitor open source accounts of international and domestic incidents, arrests and legislation as they relate to terrorism issues, study results of targeted topics, and ensure that the Counter Terrorism Center (CTC) and New York State Intelligence Center (NYSIC) leadership are kept aware of such developments.

Produce daily, monthly and ad-hoc reports focused on current terrorism threats to New York State, the Nation and overseas, drawing on the latest security threats described in open source and in reporting from official channels.

Prepare and deliver oral briefings to audiences at the executive and front line levels regarding the current threat environment.

Augment federal-level finished intelligence products by providing further analytical judgments or historical background with relevance to New York, when applicable.

Establish and maintain professional relationships with law enforcement agencies and intelligence units at local, state and national levels.

Attend meetings, conferences, trainings, and seminars, both in-state and out-of-state, to further develop an understanding of terrorism as well as strengthen analytical skills.

Assemble, collate, analyze and interpret incoming reports, available intelligence and investigative information to develop leads for federal, state or local field personnel.
Minimum and/or Preferred Qualifications:Possess a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university or one recognized by the New York State Education Department as following accepted educational practices.

AND

Two (2) years of experience in intelligence analysis or in conducting homeland security, counter terrorism or emergency preparedness analysis and assessment in a law enforcement, intelligence, homeland security, emergency management or response organization.

OR

A master's degree may substitute for one (1) year of the experience.

AND

Candidates must be eligible for a national security clearance at the SECRET level or above
Additional Comments:Starting Salary: $55,494.00
