Trooper Killed in the Line of Duty

(MARCH 26, 2011 - CLARENCE, NY) - It is with deep regret that the New York State Police announces the death of Trooper Kevin P. Dobson, a 14 year veteran of the New York State Police. Trooper Dobson was killed in the line of duty this morning at approximately 7:30 am while conducting a vehicle and traffic stop on Interstate 290 just east of the Colvin Blvd. exit (exit 2). Trooper Dobson who was stationed out of the State Police Barracks in Clarence was assigned to Interstate Patrol. While issuing a traffic summons, Trooper Dobson was struck and killed by a passing motorist. At this time the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
